Voluntary Role: 2027 Conference Representative
- Salary: Voluntary. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
- Closing date: 12 noon, 1st September 2026.
The West Midlands District will send a total of 12 representatives to the Methodist Conference in 2027 as follows:-
- six ministerial representatives, at least two of whom must be Deacons
- six lay representatives, of which the Synod Secretary is one.
For the 2027 Conference, the Synod needs to select:
- five ministerial representatives, at least two of whom must be Deacons
- four lay representatives.
Synod will be asked to agree that one lay and one ministerial representative will serve for three years.
We are seeking through our representatives to reflect the diversity of the District and include those with experience and those who bring new perspectives. The only qualification for nomination is membership of the Methodist Church.
Representatives will become members of Synod for the year leading up to, and that following, Conference and will therefore become more involved with district matters. Expenses incurred in attending Conference can be claimed and there are facilities for loss of earnings to be compensated.
