Back home  /  Vacancies  /  Assistant Lay Stationing Rep
  • Salary: Voluntary (expenses will be reimbursed)
  • Closing date: 2nd July 2025

This is a voluntary role open to lay Methodists living in the West Midlands District.

This is a new role, created in the context of the newly formed West Midlands District in anticipation of the increased activity involved in facilitating the stationing process over a larger geography. It is a significant and interesting role in the life of the District, involving working alongside the Lay Stationing Rep and the Chair(s).

You will have your own areas of responsibility – working with the Chair on Diaconal stationing, the stationing of probationer presbyters and on the stationing of Ministers of Other Churches and Conferences (MOCCs).

The role will involve meetings with Circuit Invitation Committees and with Deacons and their household / supporters. The stationing of Deacons is done in close consultation with the Warden of the Diaconal Order.

The work is largely "seasonal" beginning with District Training in May each year. Much of the work will then falls over the Summer and Autumn, with Diaconal and probationer stationing happening in January.

The appointment is for 3 years with the possibility of extension for a further 3 years.

Please submit completed application forms to info@wmmethodists.org.uk
